Embrace the Winter- Local ways to stay active as a family this season
February 27, 2024We are delighted to announce that Jack Fisher and Mason Henwood, both alumni of our Wee College Trites and Whitepine Youth programs, are the recipients of the Evan Munro Memorial Scholarship for 2024. Both graduates of Riverview High School, Jack and Mason have been integral parts of the Wee College community for many years, even featuring in our media ads and on our website. Recently, they recreated a cherished photo from their childhood as high school graduates, symbolizing their journey with us.
We are pleased to contribute to their post-secondary education by awarding each of them a $1,000 scholarship.
Jack has always been an outgoing, funny, and caring individual, known for his leadership skills, especially in hockey where he had the opportunity to be a team captain. He will be attending Saint Francis Xavier University to study business, looking forward to the numerous opportunities that his degree will bring. When asked about his role model, Jack proudly named his dad, and describes him as the best all around good guy.
Mason, always on the go, seeking opportunities to learn new things, has also demonstrated his leadership abilities in sports, at work and school. He is headed to NBCC Moncton to pursue the electrical program, with aspirations of working in Western Canada or with NB Power. Mason named his mom as his role model, reflecting on the support and lessons she has taught him.
Both Jack and Mason embody our belief in strong family connections and community spirit. Their journey from Wee College to high school graduates and now as scholarship recipients is a testament to their dedication and the support of their families.
To Mason,
We were fortunate to have had a front-row seat to your journey as a Wee kid. We are honored to have played a small part in it and are incredibly proud to see a Wee College alumnus grow into such an exemplary young individual.
To Jack,
We had the privilege of being a part of your journey from a young age as a Wee kid and are grateful to have been a part of it. You represented the best of us then, and we are confident you will continue to inspire those around you.
Congratulations, Jack and Mason! We are incredibly proud of your achievements and look forward to seeing all the great things you will accomplish in the future.
