The Challenge of Childhood Anxiety
March 1, 2016There truly are benefits to being thankful and having a grateful heart.
The more appreciative you are to what the universe grants, the more the universe pours out its abundance to you.
Being thankful opens us up to receiving all kinds of wonderful blessings. When grateful, we acknowledge our true sense and radiate this energy to others. True blessings are those that are important to your life. I find grateful people live lives positively, igniting warmth, kindness and love wherever they go. Their lives seems rather beautiful to the on looker even when theirs are not quite perfect. These grateful people can affect those around them to think more positively and give more generously. These are the people with a spark and energy and have a “can do” attitude. They see more fulfilled than those with a less than thankful heart. We need our children to be nurtured by those with a thoughtful heart as it is the parent of all virtues.
The Wee College is grateful for the families, the blessings of the children, the devotion of the staff, dedication of the administration and the contributions from the community and country. On this Thanksgiving Day, October 10, 2011, celebrate your blessings of family & friends.
Please enjoy a sampling of our thankfulness:

“Sometimes it’s the smallest things that touch our hearts mean the most. Finger prints on the window pane, drawings on the fridge, cranky mornings ending with the sweetest voice saying “I love you mama” before saying goodbye for the day, knowing you’ve married your best friend, dirty socks lying on the floor rather than in the laundry basket, a hug from the sweetest child in the world when your day has gone wrong, making time on Sunday to prepare a feast and having your loved ones over to enjoy it, bedtime stories and goodnight kisses. Family‚ is what I’m grateful for, appreciate more than anything in this world. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.”
– Amanda (Mom of 1 & expecting, Riverview)
“I am thankful for turkey.”
– Brooklyn (Age 6, Moncton Youth)
“When I think of what I am thankful for the obvious comes to mind first: my children, my husband (most days!), our health, our parents etc. But at this time I want to let you know that I am thankful for you. The dedication you have to your career has resulted in an amazing childcare center. So the thing I am most thankful for this season is that as I drop my children off each day I am thankful they are in a center where they are happy and safe.”
– Sue (Mon of 3, Moncton)
“I’m thankful that I have brothers and my mom and dad and cats and opo and oma and nana and gramps.”
– Jacob (Age 3, Moncton)
“A few years ago my life took a sharp turn. It’s a scary thing to have your life upturned but at one point I thought it was a fabulous way for me to re-invent myself. So in order to do that, I went soul searching. To practice the power of positive thinking, one person suggested to me to clap my hands three times and say out loud ‚ It’s going to be a wonderful day. Considering that this involved voluntarily speaking without having had a cup of coffee, it was axed before it really got off the ground (I’m thankful for coffee). Just realizing that feeling grateful for what I have is all I needed to do. Going through my morning routine and thinking of what I’m thankful for every day makes me feel good and makes my day begin and end well. I’ve come a long way from the person I used to be to the person I am now, and I am truly thankful for that. I’m thankful for my children who bring me so much happiness every day. I’m thankful that they receive excellent care while I’m at work. I am thankful for rough patches in life which make the effort and end result seem so much sweeter. I’m thankful for my family and friends. I’m thankful that no one heard the words I chose in the car this morning when my windshield cracked on the way to work. I’ve come a long way in my attitude of gratitude and I’m nowhere near the end of the road. This Thanksgiving I’ll continue my daily routine of gratefulness and I’ll throw in that I’m thankful for a day off work (for old time’a sake).”
– Sue (Mom of 2, Moncton)

“There is always something to be thankful for. As for me I am most thankful for the secial people in my life. My mother, stepfather and 4 siblings mean the world to me and I am blessed to have them in my life. I am also thankful for my wonderful stepmother and her 2 sons. I am truly thankful to be part of their life. My co-worker and best friend, Tamara, is my inspiration; working with her is a pleasure and she always knows how to make me smile. Most of all I am thankful for my father; he is truly my hero and he will always be my life long friend. He has been there for me through thick and thin. I love him with all my heart.”

“I am thankful for each family and child that has passed through my classes in the last 22 years, so thankful to be just a tiny part in their lives. I am thankful for great friendships, for each and every moment with my family (even those difficult ones). I realize that I am even thankful for the sadness, for if we never experience it, we could never know the full depth that happiness hold for us. Lastly, I am thankful for just the chance to be the best I can be, for the families, the children, my friends and my family; for in the end, isn’t that what we ae all thankful for? I sure am!”

“There are many things I am grateful for – my health, my home, a job I love, and a partner I enjoy working with. The one thing I am most grateful for is my family. The family of my youth, my parents, brother and sister who guided me, love me, and helped me become the person I am today. Now, my husband is my companion, best friend and support through all the good times and bad. We are blessed with two beautiful children. They bring joy, love, and completeness of my life. I am also thankful for my husband and family. They enrich our lives and complete our family circle. Family is the heart of our home. It is a constant in my life and one that I am most thankful to have everyday.”
– Bea (Educator, Riverview)
