Former Wee College kids and now high school graduates, Amelia Thompson, Daelyn Underhill and Alex Melanson are each receiving $1000 scholarships from Wee College.
Amelia, graduate of Riverview High School, will be attending Mount Allison in the fall, majoring in biochemistry. Her love of science is leading her towards a career in pathology and she clearly sees herself as a physician with the important role of analyzing and detecting disease and infection. “I am hoping to stay in the area, so you might catch me and my microscope at the Moncton Hospital one day!”
Daelyn, graduate of Riverview High School, will be attending Dalhousie University at the Truro Campus, and will be taking their Pre-Vet program. “I have always loved animals and have been surrounded by them my entire life. That awakened my drive to help them, so I decided that I wanted to become a veterinarian.” After the Pre-Vet program, Daelyn’s sites are set on getting her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
Alex, graduate of École L’Odyssée, will be attending NBCC Moncton, and will be taking their carpentry program. “I love to see a completion of a project from start to finish, it brings me pride and satisfaction to create something new and exciting with my hands.”
Our Wee Alumni share cherished memories of Wee College adventures. Friendships through Wee College are developed as young kids, valued today and will always continue as they journey forward.
Wee College is pleased to award Daelyn, Amelia and Alex scholarships and wish them success and happiness!
