Marlie Keeps on Inspiring
December 19, 2019What to Do (and Not Do) When Children Are Anxious
January 8, 2020Two new franchisees join the Wee College family!
Wee College is pleased to announce that Mariam Jabbour and her husband, Nabeel Elias are the franchisees of Wee College Homestead campus opening in April 2020.
Mariam and Nabeel have made Moncton their home since November of 2016, but it had been a dream and goal since Nabeel’s family moved here eleven years ago. Leaving their beautiful city of Tartus, along the Mediterranean coast was not an easy decision but one of necessity as conditions in Syria had become difficult and dangerous to raise their young son Spero. Mariam and Nabeel left a successful life in engineering and trade to start their new life here in Moncton and our city benefits from their choice.
Not long after establishing their home, Nabeel joined his brother in the family restaurant business, we all know as Mama’s Restaurant. Since joining forces, the brothers have opened two more locations, including one in Saint John. Mariam admits that Nabeel is a wonderful chef and the new Wee College campus will benefit from his culinary talent. We can also attest to such and can say that his chicken shawarma pizza is a favorite. Yum!
Being involved in her church since a young age, Mariam enjoyed engaging and educating the young children, so her arrival in Moncton naturally saw her enter the field of early learning. Mariam completed her Early Childhood Education from Oulton College and has been a welcomed addition at the Wee College Evergreen campus.
Mariam’s Christian faith and connection to her church has always been strong. It seems very fitting that she will be the franchisee for the Wee College Homestead campus. Although New Hope Church and Wee College are separate entities of the Community and Ministry Centre, Mariam embraces the community spirit behind the project and looks forward to her contribution to the centre and the New Hope congregation.
“Being an owner of a Wee College campus is a huge responsibility and I feel I have the wisdom and energy to do so, but I am humble enough to know that I have more lessons to learn,” says Mariam. Outside of the time she devotes to the children at the Evergreen campus, Mariam has begun franchisee training with Wee College and happily accepts the advice and experience of the other franchise owners.
Congratulations Mariam and Nabeel on joining the Wee College family.
