The entrepreneurial spirit and passion to thrive began at an early age for me. At an age when I was wearing little girl shoes. I created imaginary worlds, often played out in the backyard bicycle shed, where I was a teacher, dancer, actor, a store keeper, a minister or even the Prime Minister of Canada. These imaginary worlds I created for the neighbourhood children laid a foundation of believing in my abilities, believing in me while supporting my ever-changing world of entrepreneurship.
My passion for teaching brought me to a private kindergarten and so started my devotion to the field of early learning. You can say it’s little feet in little shoes that gave me purpose. For the past thirty-three years, my focus in bringing high quality early learning programs for children and families has never wavered. Born through passion and a strong desire to empower parents, inspire teachers and create an environment of living, loving and learning for children is at the forefront of each day.
Within the walls of living, loving and learning, I have been affectionately known as the girl with the high heels, often my arrival only alerted by the sounds of click, click, click. Only in the classrooms did the heels come off to be shared by all. I often giggled seeing the children’s mannerisms change the moment they slip on the shoes. Mini ME’s…dancing, swirling, singing, laughing and yes…” teaching,” creating their own imaginary worlds – where truly imaginations smile.
If truth be told, my high heels are a part of me, of my story, of my strength. They supported me through growth, carried me through storms and lifted me to greater heights both literally and figuratively.
